I used to think that too, but I do use coffee shops now. It is a nice way to socialise and a lot cheaper than going to the pub. I drink so infrequently now that I am close to being a non drinker.

When compared to many other activities, it is a relatively cheap treat.

But getting back to the article, it does seem that they are telling investors one story and the taxman another. Not particularly happy that another large corporation seems to be getting away with not paying their fair share of tax !!!

But you can get better in the independent coffee shops.

Starbucks?  I can't be @rsed with all those staff faffing around behind the counter just to process ONE cappuccino.  At home, I press a button and it's done in 60 secs.  

And yeah, the coffee's not all that anyway.

Oh, and the Brighton shop is filthy 

McDonalds coffee is fab the rest of their food is shit ,but good coffee.

I'll second that. I stop in on my way to work every morning for coffee.  I love the coffee but hate it when the staff lean out of the window to give me the coffee and send a waft of grease towards me. 

In StarBucks you can have your chosen name written on your cup.

Next time in there i will ask for it to be "Costa"
