TV-am's Mike Morris has died at the age of 65.
Morris, who hosted the Good Morning Britainsegment of the ITV breakfast strand, passed away on Sunday (October 21). It is believed that he died after a short illness.
Lorraine Kelly led the tributes to her former colleague on ITV breakfast show Daybreak this morning (October 23), saying: "He was a nice guy. Really funny, really good at his job, very very underrated because he never made a fuss, just got on with it. He really made it look easy, I think that was the thing about Mike... our thoughts are with his family this morning, of course."
Kelly also thanked Daybreak's viewers for their messages of condolence.
Morris started his career in print media and worked for organisations including AAP Reuters in Australia. He moved into broadcasting in the late 1970s with Thames News, joining TV-am for its launch in February 1983 as a sports correspondent.

He then became a main anchor in 1987, and remained with TV-am until the end of its ITV franchise in December 1992.
Morris worked for Yorkshire Television's flagship regional news programme Calendar from 1996 to 2002, and former colleague Christine Talbot also paid tribute to the late broadcaster.
"Very upset to hear of the death of our former @CalendarNews presenter Mike Morris. Spoke to him just recently. He was still full of fun," she tweeted.
Talksport's Richard Keys, another former colleague of Morris at TV-am, wrote on Twitter on Monday evening: "Desperately sad news. Mike Morris, my buddy from TV-am, died last night. Top guy and hugely under-rated. Loved a laugh. I'll miss you buddy."
