I bought via Amazon Christmas tree and hall dec for our wee club.

There's a definite 'nip' in the air.

Nights are closing in.

We're enjoying a bit of an Indian summer

 

Yep - Xmas is coming !!!!

When I was on holiday in the Cotswolds in July/August, there is a christmas shop in Bourton- on- the- water. I bought a couple of decorations from there. 

I love it sezit! Now every time you hang those on your tree, you'll remember your holiday!

(makes note to avoid Bourton on HHO and stick to Burford) On a more positive note January is approaching.

Bethni. I go every year, we always have one of  our holidays in the Cotswolds. There is a very expensive christmas shop in Stratford upon Avon as well, fantastic ornaments, but very pricey. It is just across from Will Shakespeares birthplace.

I put lights on my cherry tree last year, and I've never took them down.  I even put them back on when the tree was in blossom. I might put them on tonight.

Oh thanks Erin, that's cute! it's just the kind of thing I'm looking for too Haha no my trees aren't up yet, mr summer doesn't let me until December lol I do have a basket of pine cones that I've been collecting though, it's a decorative piece in progress

It's not really festive as it's September and the beginning of Autumn.  The only thing I can think of that's 'festive' for this time of year is harvest festival stuff.

 

When I was a little boy at primary school at this time of year, there was a thing for children (to get their parents) to donate foodstuffs for the less fortunate.   Other than that, corn dollies perhaps?

I love christmas.

Yes, you're right. It's nearly that time I dived to the back of my pantry and donated those stray tins of kidney beans and packets of Matzos, that lingered 4 years after the Passover I got them for, to go to a better...more grateful home.

 

My God, if my children were already talking about Christmas I'd be mental and they'd be ...well muted.

I have a confession to make .... I ordered my first Xmas present today It's a microscope for my youngest grandson

It's great isn't it. I love that area. I'm interested in the Levellers and the battle for hegemony within the Parliamentarians, so obviously the church is a bit  of a magnet, although I was quite surprised to see such a happy clappy service taking place.

Just up the road is Mitford country and I am fascinated by them too. There is a cavery in a converted barn which once belonged to the family and there was quite an amusing piece of leterature hung up in the entrance hall.
