Alex Reid arrested 'on suspicion of criminal damage and using violence to secure entry' at the Essex home he shares with Chantelle Houghton

The 37-year-old cage fighter is currently in custody after being arrested 'on suspicion of criminal damage and using violence to secure entry' following a 'disturbance' at the couple's property in Brentwood at 1.30am.
A spokesperson for Essex Police told MailOnline: 'Police were contacted just before 1.30am this morning with reports of a disturbance at a property in Spital Lane, Brentwood.
'A 37-year old man from Brentwood was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and using violence to secure entry, and is currently in police custody.'
Representatives for both Alex and Chantelle have been contacted by MailOnline for comment.
Police were also pictured arriving at the couple's home this morning, with Chantelle's mum later letting herself into the property with a key.
In recent weeks, the couple have made no secret of the fact their relationship has been under strain following the birth of their 11-week-old daughter, Dolly, in June.
And the 29-year-old reality star went so far as to admit her problems with Alex, 37, are giving her anxiety, which is in turn causing her to have high blood pressure and heart palpitations.

She told the new issue of OK! magazine: 'Things have been really strained. There's never a day without drama.'
Chantelle admitted she was very upset by Alex's former manager Richard Curson speaking to the press about their relationship, claiming the cagefighter used to try and kiss him.
She continued: 'He (Richard) said he was Alex's confidante and came out with lots of allegations about sexting. It's been a horrible, hard time. Alex has hurt me.

Curson told Now magazine last month: 'I think if it wasn't for the baby, Alex would've left her a long time ago. They argue about everything: sex, money, business, working together, the gym.
'The fact they decided to have a baby after only two months together was, in my opinion, crazy and irresponsible, but it was Chantelle's dream.'
Chantelle set the record straight about her 29th birthday last week, admitting Alex did buy her a proper present.
However, because he didn't give it to her until later in the day, rather than first thing in the morning, she refused to open it until several days later.
She told OK!: 'Alex bought me a lipgloss from Dolly and my mum got me a balloon from Dolly, so I did have a present to open.
'He came home with a present, but I didn't open it until a few days later because I was just upset that he didn't give me anything on my birthday morning. It wasn't nice at all... He has royally mucked up. Again.'
In an interview with New! magazine this week, Alex admitted he had made mistakes in his relationship with Chantelle: 'I’m doing everything in my power to make it work. I’ve made bad mistakes and choices.'
The couple, who had only been dating for six months when they got engaged last October, are unsure what the future holds and admit they don't spend much time together.
They've run into several problems already during their 16-month relationship.
Chantelle was furious when she discovered Alex had been exchanging private, but innocent, Twitter messages with model Amy Willerton - former protogee of his ex-wife Katie Price.
The former Paris Hilton lookalike also admitted she has also been upset by Alex being groped by a drag queen as he performed in a gay club.
A few weeks before baby Dolly was born, Alex briefly moved out of the couple's Essex home, and again left the property for three days last month.
