As expected the closing ceremony was fantastic - although a bit too much of Cold Play for my liking I loved the spectacle, artistry, colour and amazing co-ordination of so many skills.
did anyone watch the parade with the floats? I thought it was a fitting finale to a great olympics/paralympic games

I was really upset they'd done it during work hours and I missed it

I wondered if the reason they'd wrapped it up before 5pm was to avoid more traffic jams for workers coming home - I guess as one last hurrah it would have been nice for you all
Brilliant parade, so nice to see them all together , even if i did keep seeing Ashley

I was dipping in and out of it. What a brilliant turn out - seemed like a lovely atmosphere there, everyone smiling and happy. a great 'informal' ending to a great summer. I loved that it wasn't too glitzy and over produced. all done in a lovely spirit I felt.
I wondered if Ashley would be there Glad I didn't see him.
It was excellent! I feel bereft now.

I'm so sad it's finished... what do I do now?
oohhh parade highlights on BBC1 now
Just seen Boris' speech, he cracks me up
Bloody Katherine Jenkins, warbling the National Anthem... nails down a blackboard
I'll be honest I hate sports so I didn't watch much of the Olympics bar what I saw on the news etc. However if you like sports it must have been great, however seeing the Condems etc spouting how great it was for Britain and especially how great it was for disabled folk etc, meanwhile they are slashing budgets and closing centres for disabled folk all over the country. They are making folk that are disabled etc attend so called "Medicals" run by a private company ATOS that are stating that terminal cancer patients etc are fit for work .The hypocrisy of it all stinks.
