Other than students and the parents of students, WHO CARES?

Why is it the top story on all of the news channels, why do they send down camera crews to schools to watch a bunch of spotty youths open their brown results letters, I just dont get why it's such a big deal news wise...I dont remember it being so news worthy several years ago.

Ah! It was in at number one with a bullet on the six o' clock news.

Even so I can't remember all this fuss when I took m'GCE exams. The older one gets the less important it all seems.
