Xochi, maybe an idea to surge the hell out of it too then tackle the smell? Surgical spirit will help kill some of the niff and totally disinfect it too
Pee stinks just as bad, Ditty
Xochi, if you're doing loads of mopping..... go buy a few spare mop heads.
There's only so much rinsing out a mop can take (you don't want to end up spreading the stuff)
I've just gone in the bathroom and sprayed my deodorant all over my bathroom floor! After my bezzie had already scrubbed as best she could. I"m hoping the stink will be gone tomorra Cos.
True Lori.. but she'll be sat there wondering whether to have a pickled onion with her chips
(or worse.. mushy peas.. )
see I was thinking that fox would be wondering whether to have a pickled onion with its chips
nahh, foxes are gherkin munchers!
Well, as long as we don't have to waste mushy peas on them.

Pickled eggs! Someone's got to go for the pickled egg?

See, what I need is one of those 1000yr old eggs. Proper deterrent!

Take a wild shot on that Cos.
It stinks to high hell Ditty! Hmmm. Ketchup eh? I worry about that on a gold coloured carpet!
I have two words for you: throw rug.
You know, over the spot.
But it's in my loo Lori! I have nowhere else to go. Literally. And I mean that too! (ref to Becky).
As long as that scent is marking it, its the foxes loo now
Yep. Thanks for that uplifting message!
Xochi, you going to be able to ventilate the bathroom over night?
Can you leave a window open?
So still have the patio door open. No way in without my foe seeing me.
I'll update as necessary.
Fox correspondant here. Clearly not Murdoch related post.
There have been no recent sightings of Foxes.

Nope Cos. Can't reach it but will get my pal to do that tomorrow. Good idea but I'm so short of coping mechanisms atm.

I have no idea to what you are referring. But I do. So I'd win BB because I'm a totally up-front HM. I have my flaws but I'm honest. Honest. Pick up your phone for me. The number is.... 0000999942281111111. And add 08 for me.

Ta ra. I will update the feral info tomorrow folks.
Yeah, I know that Cos. I'm hoping the perfect storm going on outside will deter the guy. But I can still smell the pee. Anyone know what to get for this?
I swear by Zoflora every time for getting rid of lingering odours. Relatively cheap and available in most supermarkets. Failing that, there are products called Odour Neutraliser or Biodour-Ex (made by Selden), both popular with care homes for getting rid of smells.
leave piles of anti water retention pills outside the door, then the fox can eat those and have a good pee before he comes back in!
Be careful of them Xochi. They can wander in and out and seem ok but they can be vicious if cornered.
Maybe your local council could advise you as regards it coming into your home,it may be classed as a pest and they might trap it.
You have my sympathy as regards fox piss,it's rank.We have urban foxes but they stay outdoors, they actually shit in the wild birds water bowl contaminating it.They also pea against the wheelie bins and the stench is awful, easy to wash down outside of course.
So I want you all to know the obvious solution was to rip the carpet out of the bathroom. Got a mate around to to do it and it has been packed up in bin bags now. The carpet, not the foxes but if you asked me right now... Anyway, I'll phone a carpet bloke near me and talk about vinyl tiles or lino stuff for my bathroom. I think I need lino or vinyl now and for my hallway too to make my wheelchair roll more easier. Anyone got any links to take this up and whether it keeps the heat in when it's cold ?
Genius - rip up the carpet!
Was going to back up Cinds with the Zoflora recommendation; but do NOT use the hyacinth scented one. It smells like pee
No idea with lino or vinyl stuff Xoch's, so am of no help whatsoever.
Cushionfloor vinyl should be warmer than bog-standard (excuse the pun) vinyl or lino, though it will be a bit more expensive.
Who should be responsible for keeping the garden neat. If the state of it is allowing 'vermin' in then it could be classed as an environmental hazzard.
The council might be able to serve them with a penalty.
I've seen the local fox at the patio doors twice in a month now - they were closed though. Built up area.
Back and side is a fully enclosed six foot fence.
One of the bin lids doesn't sit right - the disposable one and I wonder if that is luring it in.
There are various Fox repellents on Amazon, Xochi - there's an ultrasonic repeller that's triggered by movement........but the only trouble is, it works on dogs as well so if your neighbours are dog lovers I guess that's not an option.
Sorry you had such a bad night, sounds scary.
We have a fox in the back gardens, but we back onto fields. I worry about the cats and the hedgehog I have in the garden (although none of them seem to bother him now they know he hurts). They make the strangest noise, even if they aren't chased by a pack of hounds.
