I remember Frank Skinner did a documentary on George Formby, featuring the George Formby Society - lots were ukelele players as well as fans. You might find info there?

No idea, but I'd have thought you could get a good one for £60, they're relatively cheap, apparently.

My son plays and they're very expensive for a good one, we got him a starter one which is good enough for now and it was only €28 from our music shop....they have them on ebay....
