Mars One is a private project led by Dutch entrepreneur, Bas Lansdorp, to establish a permanent human colony on Mars Announced in June 2012, the plan is to send a communications satellite to the planet by 2016 and after several stages, finally land humans on Mars for permanent settlement in 2023. A new set of four astonauts will then arrive every two years. The group is endorsed by Nobel prize winning physicist Gerard t Huffal....

Mars One is attempting to secure sponsors and investors by making it a reality television show and have prospective astronauts selected by the public. Putting the first four astronauts on Mars alone is expected to cost approximately US$6 billion. Mars One has identified at least one potential supplier for each of the components of the mission. They claim that the project's costs are minimized because it would be a one way trip Returning humans from Mars would require far more time and resources....

Mars One plans to establish the first human settlement on Mars. According to their schedule, the first crew of four astronauts would arrive on Mars in 2023, after a seven month journey from Earth. Further teams would join their settlement every two years, with the intention that by 2033 there will be over twenty people living, and working on Mars....

If it were a scifi film, they would send people who were on death row. They would would end up reforming themselves and transforming Mars into a habitable planet. But one unfortunate comes across something unusual and contracts an alien disease which quickly spreads to all the other convicts except for one feisty woman, an ex police officer wrongly convicted and a humanlike robot. They battle their way through a myriad of obstacles, finally making their getaway on an old cargo transport ship only to find that one of them is carrying the alien virus....... TO EARTH...roll credits.

...and ,no, I wouldn't like the thought, I have trouble grappling with the concept of eternity, never mind eternity on Mars.

I was going to go with "a mavarick cop wrongly imprisoned for a murder he did not commit". But that's been done to much.

Also I though police officer sounded more British.

Would you?..are'nt there things you'd miss from this world?..I can't go on holiday for more than a week, I'm homesick and crying on the first night....

Yeah it'd be a wrench but; what an adventure!

It'd all rely on MrsMuf wanting to go too though
