I have been monitoring the viewing figures this season, probably more than watching the programme itself. So, given the information below coupled with the progressively poor HM's each series, How much life do you think is left in BB before Channel 5 realise it is more trouble than it's worth?

  • The first column is the position that particular programme made it to against all the other Channel 5 programmes broadcast that week.
  • The second column is the day and time for each programme.
  • The third is viewing figures for that programme in Millions.

At the moment there is no published data for anything past 29th July (but I will try and update it if someone reminds me).

Yes, I had thought myself that the Olympics would have an effect but BB has been running longer, the figures starting poor and not having any recovery. The Olympics weeks figures only just creep into this. 25th July (first day of Olympics) vs the previous week the figures are almost the same for BB episode.

Thanks for the link, it's quite an interesting read. I find it funny how they are arguing over a few hundred thousand viewers making the difference as to whether the show is going to be continued. I think the advertisers play a big part. If the viewing figures aren't there, they won't pay top dollar for that slot.

Report covers complaints received between: Tuesday 31 July 2012 to Monday 6 August 2012
Big Brother, Channel 5, Monday 25 June 2012 : 17

Please Note
Programmes that attracted fewer than 10 complaints are not recorded on this list. Inclusion or omission of a programme on this list is not indicative that Ofcom is investigating the broadcast. The number of complaints received is not an indication of how serious an issue is. All complaints are assessed against the Broadcasting Code."
