... to coin an American phrase in honour of our hosts, from what I've read of them.

I just wanted to say a big THANK YOU for the lovely birthday posts, the excitement of today has rather taken it out of me so I need to retire to bed now.

I hope you're all around tomorrow as weekends can be a lonely time for me.

Thank you all, all you lovely people.  I have enjoyed today as much as the others I have been here, if not more.

Goodnight from your old jailbird Lizzie

Good night Lizzie, and safe passage for another glorious year. Thank you for sorting out that other misunderstanding

Ahhh Doris Day, always loved that lady and her films but then I enjoyed watching a lot of films of that era Personally not interested in what's offered up these days, especially the violent ones

Me neither Yellow Rose. There is a Spanish director called Pedro AlmodÃģvar that I much admire. His films are often funny, and I think it is said camp. They make me laugh very much. But most modern films are not for me.

I like a good mystery but also films with humour, not the silly immature kind but...hmm trying to think of the type I mean...ok this one's popped into my mind, it goes back a bit but I can't think of anything relatively recent lol....  but The Odd Couple. Scripts like that for me are well written and funny

Edit to add when I said immature I was thinking of that American actor who pulls stupid faces but can't remember his name

Yes I like that film very much. I loved that partnership of Lemmon and Matthieu (excuse my spelling). I also love all of the films of the director Billy Wilder. He was a genius. I will retire to sleep now Yellow Rose. It has been once again a pleasure to speak to you. Goodnight

I didn't mention the actors in it because I could remember Jack Lemon but not Matthieu's name lol. Buenos noches Senora, always nice talking to you, see you tomorrow.

Oh I'd forgotten about Jerry Lewis and his face pulling lol but no not him. The one I was thinking of is in films that are recent, only way I can describe him is in one film he had a green face, or green mask. I didn't see the film but have seen pics of him. My memory needs an upgrade lol

Yes, Jim Carrey is the one I was thinking you meant. I have ever only seen him in one thing that I liked - The Trueman Show - couldn't stand him elsewhere.

That film was called The Mask. His face only went green when he wore the mask.
