I'm 55 - when I was a teenager it was as rough as Hell - it's got even worse in more recent years. It's a horrible place and I feel sorry for anyone decent who has to live there. Sounds like it's become a dumping ground for all the low lives.

sounds like she got off to a bad start from the get go.

shocking isn't it like i said earlier it always surprises me how quick some women let new boyfriends into the family home when they have young children, but in this case i think it will turn out to be the gran and not the boyfriend

Me too Aimee.  Some poor kids have a new 'uncle' every other month.  I was single when I had master C and it was something I promised myself I would never do.  Mr C was the first boyfriend that Master C ever met and he was almost 4 by then.

This case is just getting more and more ghoulish.  That poor kid.  The grandmother?  Blimey.  Have there been any sightings of the missing mother yet?

Very odd indeed Kaffy.  Maybe the police don't know where she is and the apology was an attempt to flush her out of her hiding place.

Oh right Fluffy. Maybe I'm being naieve but I still find it hard to be believe she'd be involved. I haven't got grandchildren but have lost count over the years when I've heard grandparents say that it's a special relationship, different to being a parent. I've asked  more than few times what makes it so different and they find it hard to explain, so I still don't know as I've not experienced it. If the neighbour was involved I could accept that more easily as it's not the same bond. With all things time will tell, as long as there's justice for the tragic loss of a child is what's important.

The closest I can explain the way I feel about my grandchildren is that although I love them as much as my children, I never get cross with them. I simply never have an argument with them. I've been through it all with myself as a youngster, then with my children and it's easy to dismiss practically anything as a normal prossess of growing up. Does that make any sense?

I'm nearer now to understanding it than I was lol. You've helped me think along the lines of....by the time parents have brought up their children they've learnt a lot and been through a lot. So by the time grandchildren come along all they've learnt can come into play and there's more understanding or tolerance of their behaviour at different stages from the baby years onwards. Then of course there's one thing I've heard said many times is that grandchildren can be given back to the parents if/when it gets a bit...umm, testing? lol

I never want to give mine back TBH - they've been here most of the day running me ragged with a bouncy castle outside. I always feel a bit sad when they've gone.

I never understand that saying at least you can give them back. I want to keep mine

My nephew works for the same firm as one of Tias Uncles .......apparently last Monday my nephew said 'I'm sorry to hear about your niece being missing'.

He apparently replied (something like) 'She probably had too many alcopops and was frightened of going home'

All very strange - I wonder if drugs were involved - maybe she got hold of some of her grandads stuff and OD'd. Who knows?

OMG,the poor wee darling,....we don't know exactly what the gran knew granted but surely in this weather especially decomposition would have set in, how could she not have noticed that.

you would also have thought those searching for her who have been in and out of that house would have noticed a smell as well

true enough she wouldn't have decomposed enough but usually at this stage there are flies and I thought the Sky news reporter said when they found her body her limbs were exposed.  I have a feeling the police didn't even check the loft
