My country, England, is full of beautiful scenes like the one below. Also the other countries that make up these beautiful isles are also full of lovely scenery and they are home to some wonderful people. Yes I am very proud of my country.
I can certainly appreciate the nature and scenery of the country that's a given, however some of it's residents leave a lot to be desired,politicians,bankers etc.
But there are some good people in it too Katty

...but you could say that about anybody in any country. I agree with VD, this country has nothing to be proud of, what's more, I don't think any country has anything to be proud of. They all have their ups and downs.

Generally I am, but when I think of how we cosy up to the Yanks on our foriegn policy..I feel deep shame.
I am proud to be Scottish, not for the beauty of the nation, thats down to the rain and Mother Nature, but for the good people that live here. Yes there is good and bad everywhere but we are known for our kindness and hospitality. Plus we are not "Yes" people, we fight when we dont agree with the "flo" .and long may it continue !
Yes I'm proud, for a myriad of reasons...there's lot's of tin pot dictators out there ruling countries, committing genocide and other evil atrocities...we have selfish people in this country, like every country in the world, but on the whole I feel we are a caring race... although I am not so sure of the 10% of rich that couldn't give a sh*t!

I suppose it depends....when I look at the hard working folk living & breathing the same air I do....I am proud of them.....the banking institution on the other hand leaves alot to be desired....but even then it is just a handful of greedy folk (calling the shots unfortunately)that shame us.
Politicians are the worse...but then I just see them all as a joke!...a bad one at that!....ultimately though they don't matter as such...cos whatever changes they make, are invariably undone or changed 2/3 yrs down the line!
Except for the war moves.....totally against any form of violence !!
