Blimey! That's rather like blaming Gordon Brown for the entire euro meltdown/collapse of capitalism. (A theory which until recently was quite popular within the Tory party)

Alright then, if there was no Israel, there would be no conflict in the Middle East. What I don't understand is that people want Jewish ppl to go and live in 'their country'. It's like saying to Catholics to go and live in'their country'. FFS, why can't people just get on. I despair.

Depends by what you mean by blaming Israel. .do you blame the Israeli's as a nation or the Jews as a religion. . not exactly the same as not all Israeli's are Jewish..

and I don't recall people telling Jews to go live in their country, wasn't it them that wanted to.. promised land and being the chosen people and all that stuff ?

but I agree I just wish people would get on and worship whatever gods they want and leave those that don't follow theirs or any at all alone..

Olly, the way I understand the Bible, the Jewish People have a promised land. Moses apparentantly led them there for 40 years from Egypt. How they dispersed again, I do not know.  America and their allies gave it back to them in 1945 to the detriment of the Palistilians (sp)  who lived there. Since then the Isarelis have dug deeper and deeper into Palestilian (sp) deritory, which is why the conflict carries on.

That's what I was trying to say. Ben Gurion was the first Israeli Prime Minister, but they took away the land that was owned by the Pallestilians (sp), hence the ongoing conflict.
