personally for me the games will not take over - I watch a few but dont have an interest in all the sports so BB will still be watched and followed to the end 

I've  no interest at all in the olympics so I'll be sticking with BB,unless we get left with nothing but team nasty then I'll switch off.

I will see it to the end now. Its not easy though!! 

Agreed - it really is pretty crap watching a house full of nasty, boring, vindictive people (with a couple of exceptions) plotting and scheming their way through to the final,

I ignored BB12 but enjoyed the BB13 launch and regained my interest... but seem to be struggling now!

adams to honest for that lot, thats where hes slipped up. they havent got alot on him so when he says honestly hes not happy at being up, they hang onto it and try slaughter him.

I GENUINELY agree with you both Col and Kaffers. 

I'm interested: don't particularly like any of the characters in there, (although I prefer some to others e.g. Adam.) That has helped revive my enthusiasm tbh, as I don't have a blind spot re what's going on, (in a way which has possibly not been the case more recently) and, shock horror, I can see good and bad in all of them!

My interest started with the first one back in 2000, primarily because I was fascinated by how people behave, survive, form alliances, manipulate etc. etc. in that environment, (irrespective of whether I 'liked' them or not.)  That waned over the years, I got more and more into who I liked versus those I thought were dishonest, machiavellian, celebrity seekers, etc. So, thankfully, I've kinda got back where I started....with a more objective and dispassionate perspective!

I never really watched lf, so I did pretty much rely on the edited hls, which, although has it's limitations, does give one a 'general idea' overall.

So, what will I be doing on Fri?...Channel hopping! I'm pretty pd off with loads of things about the Olympics, but, at the end of the day, it is the Olympic Games, and it is 'here'

ION, I have a friend who has represented her country in the last two Olympic Games. She says that, as much as the opening ceremonies are an honour and a great spectacle, it really is a bit of a pita for the competitors: they are so focused and disciplined for months and months before, with a strict and prescribed regime of training, sleeping, eating etc. and then, the day before it all starts, all of that suddenly goes haywire, with lots of hanging around and a real wobble to their routine and focus, especially when it, inevitably, means a late night the day before they are due to start competing.

I don't know about "giving up", but it's been a real slog this year. Most of HMs are unlikeable (and a worryingly-high percentage downright loathsome), and until recently there's been precious little fun.

Ultimately, though, it's RL that is the biggest problem. Not just the Olympics, but work commitments and holidays mean that I'll be struggling to keep up with the show over the final couple of weeks...

As for the White Room: sorry if this sounds pessimistic, but based on past experience, I expect it to be a damp squib at best (like Liam simply being handed £100,000 in BB8) or else it'll leave a nasty taste in the mouth (like the prize fund split last year). Kick life back into the series? Not a chance.

That was awful... Jonathan, Carole and Seany handing over 100k to a deserving hm... Liam; while we were just a few weeks into the show. My lasting memory of that twist was the complete refusal by Carole to see the money going to a female hm.

So 2 sums of 100k were awarded during BB8... and neither went to a launch night hm!
