Has anyone ever taken a family to Manchester and found somewhere pleasant to stay? Mrs Jer and I will be taking two boys 10yo and 11yo for a couple of nights. We have looked at appartments and so on but keep seeing reviews from stag/hen trips.

Have stayed there loads of times Joe but always look at hotels.com or laterooms.com to see what offers are on...they give good reveiws and we have had excellent deals from them in the past.
We stayed in apartments before and have always had no problem in them as the flats are usually in residential apartment blocks anyway.
Make sure you get a city centre hotel as some on the outskirts can be a bit of a treck into town but some we liked have been Hilton in Deansgate, Iconic Hotel in Spinningfields, Arora Hotel Princess St, The Midland Hotel. We have never paid more that ÂĢ65 per night for a double room but it depends what offers are on at the time!
