PM 'prepared to consider EU vote'David Cameron

David Cameron says he is prepared to consider a referendum on the UK's relationship with the EU,but only when the time is right.

If that is the premis for a vote then why is he (and many other English/London oriented politicians) all fired up and demanding a vote on Scottish independence when THEY want it and not leaving it to 'when the time is right' as determined by the Scottish people/Scottish parliament?

Trying to get back into Murdoch's good books. There is a battle going on between Cameron and Milliband as to who can impress the boss. Murdoch wants us out of Europe thus my natural default position is to remain in. Though tbf there isn't any advantage in leaving. That buffoon Farrago was saying we could be more like Norway!!!!!! Great news for tax payers!

Isn't the Norwegian economy predominantly based on oil? Is there not a much larger public sector? To name but some. The man's a buffoon. I can only see disadvantages leaving the EU. As for two faced call me dave, nuff said.

White men speak with forked tongue, 'tis true.

How the hell did we end up with this joker as PM

Because  our lack-luster GBP couldn't turn out in big enough droves to make a decisive vote - therefore we have an indecisive government.

Absolutely. and I've never forgiven Thatcher for stealing it.

Cameron should explain what his third option is, as I fear it's lots of exemptions that will sign away rights and the future prosperity of British workers so the fatcats can get richer and give more money to Tories.  All justified by the usual neo-lib claptrap of removing red-tape and encouraging entrepreneurship.

I've no problem with a proper debate on Europe.  Contrary to what they claim, most of the debate on Europe comes from the Eurosceptic right and the likes of Ferage, who blame Europe for everything.  The Eurosceptic case is not helped by all the Euro-sceptic arguments coming from crappy small government, right wing parties like UKIP.  In a referendum both sides would be heard and voters would be much more informed.

Now isn't the right time for referendum nor to pull out of Europe but when the economy is out of the shite (whenever that might be) the question should be asked.

the rest of the jerks should follow him, but until this sh*te heap of a government deicide to regulate them properly they will always get away with shady dealings and high bonuses. Least whatever anyone says about labour, they did bring in some regulatory rules, although not enough by a long chalk

They did, but they were largely concerned with consumer protection, which were the scandals of the Tory years.  As far as casino banking went, like the Tories and Bush's lot, they didn't think (or want to think) it was a problem and regulating it was not in the national interest.

They didn't regulate, they should have regulated, but when all the experts, advice and "smart money" says "regulating this is nobbling your financial services" then who'd go against the prevailing wisdom?

Carnelian

They've completely lost control, if they ever had any. They are lashing out quite blindly at Europe, Education, and their own pals in finance.

They'll be having a go at the Windsors next.

A right royal crisis of hegemony and no mistake, er guv.
