Best we've managed is a hedgehog.
My aunt switches all the lights off and watches the fox cubs play-fighting in her back garden.
ahhh, how sweet
I like foxes.

Wonder what they say to each other when they spot her watching them

'Have you got her in your sights yet?'
I noticed one at night obviously staring at it's own reflection in the patio windows. It had a plump squirrel between it's jaws and was probably trying to work out if the 'other' fox had a better one!

It's great to hear them during the night. It's an eerie sound, but I love it.

My daughter has moved to a brand new house, the building is still going on around her. Every single night at eight o'clock a fox wanders through - I think they are creatures of habit.

I would love to see that in my garden.
The best I've had was, years ago, an albino ferret running through (someones escaped pet). We had rabbits at the time so master Cinds ran out and captured the ferret and it bit him
But the other week I saw the biggest rat I have ever seen, nibbling at something in my garden sitting along side magpies
ewwww Cinds ... my mate had rats in her garden all last summer - it meant she had to keep her back door closed all the time.
One morning we were outside having coffee and a rats sauntered across the lawn, sniffed at her courgettes in the vegetable patch, and ambled back under her shed.
We picked the courgettes and put them on the compost heap

The compost heap might be attracting the rats, Rexi.
It's an enclosed plastic one Yogi ... it turned out that it was the kitchen at the pub next door.
And they offered her a free meal for the inconvenience
Rexi, the last 2 years we've had them.
There are 2 reasons I know they are there.
Firstly, the dirty lazy cow up the street who keep guinea pigs for her child but never cleans them, plus she is also so stupid she never puts her bins out and leaves bags and bags of rubbish down the side of her house.
Then we have a motorway lay-by, down the embankment at the bottom of our garden and lovely folk throw their crap out of their cars.

What a nerve!

hahaha like you would want to eat at a rat infested pub.
Although to be fair, isn't there a statistic that says any human is only so many feet away from a rat at any one time.

*sings* neighbours ... everybody needs good neighbours

Ten feet or 10 rats? *cringes*

She's an ignorant cow (and that is me being nice).

I did peer out the patio doors as I typed that ... all clear

hahahaha so did I. No rats tonight.
We put rat poison out last year, but it's been too wet this year, plus we have to be careful for the dogs.
ah well ... talking of having to look out for other animals - anyone listen to Jeremy Vine today talking about slugs?
I don't like putting slug pellets down anymore since katty told me about how it kills the birds ... this woman on JV says you should put porridge oats down - the slugs eat it and it kills them - but doesn't harm the birds that eat the slugs.
Anyone tried it?

Yes I listened to JV today, I listen every day, but I didn't hear the bit about porridge oats. BUT if you did put porridge oats out, surely that would attract the rats too.
BTW did you hear his show the other week when he was talking to the brothers who had been involved with the Krays? That was one amazing radio show.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, yes I did - it was utterly fascinating and I meant to tell one of the little people to get hubby the book for Father's Day. Thanks for reminding me

I never though of that ... but I looked in the cupboard earlier and figured passion fruit Oat So Simple wouldn't work - so I haven't actioned it yet!!

I was totally astounded by what those guys said. We all know the Krays were cruel, but wow they were psychotic.
