Some of you may remember me posting on here last September when my son and his girlfriend had gone on holiday to Spain and two days into the holiday they were both assaulted by their so called friend (a police officer). It later transpired he had also previously assaulted another friend on a night out. Anyway it was his misconduct hearing last week after 8 months of investigations. He decided on the day to admit all three assaults and after the panel deliberated and went over all the circumstances he was dismissed without notice.

It is good news because I don't believe he should have the power a police officer has when he's behaved like that - especially hitting a woman. However I do think he has issues that need dealing with and if he'd admitted it in the first place the police force would have supported him and provided him with the help he obviously needs. He's not all bad - after all my son wouldn't have become friends with him in the first place and he wouldn't have got in the police force - but the outcome was the only one that was acceptable.  Its just a shame he has had to ruin so much in his life and I genuinely hope he gets some help but judging by what I've heard its doubtful as he still seems to think alcohol is the answer
