His style was influential on the likes of Eric Clapton, Brian May, Hank Marvin and many more.

We will never know how many people famous and not so famous would not be able to play the guitar today without Bert. That's quite a legacy to leave.

My Mum was a Home Help and nearly all her clients were women
Over 25years work she only ever worked for about 5 men
Perhaps most died in the War?

Steve Marriot died 11 years go today.
I think it's a well known fact that men don't live as long as women. Women are great at carrying things like stress and passing them on.

My dad used to like Bert Weedon.... so I set of grew up with him

Us too Baz. Our first 'learn to play the guitar' book was Bert Weedon's Play-in-a-Day. Of course what also helped whet out interest in playing the guitar was that our dad was a good guitarist.
It frustrated me though, that I could never be very good at it because of the physical constraints engendered by the brain tumour op, but I've managed to survive!
