I can't remember what the clue was....and I have no idea what's going on either!!!!!!

So you're the character 'Guinan' and the 'detective' Vi Brator and Mrs. B in your spare time?

That's about it!!! Hence the brain ache!!! As yet, I haven't posted as the wrong one...but there is still more than enough time for that!

I assume that each of the players has a script/brief that they're disclosing facts from?

Does the 'thief' have to be one of the 8 characters or could it be someone else on board?

If the thief is one of the characters, do they, themselves, know that they the thief at this stage and are concealing it or do they not find out until the end themselves? If so are they allowed to lie? Do the others have to tell the truth?

Oh, and are the other characters who are mentioned by the players: (Dr. Rhom Eulan, Trope, Shuttle Chief Frath, Chief O'Brien, Chief Woo,) all part of the player's scripts or are they 'made up'/artistic licence?

Thanks!

The murderer is always one of the proper characters (except Vi - who is an honorary character with very special status).  Each participant is given information that they can and can't release to the game (unless they are asked directly in which case they can't lie but they can change the subject).  Sometimes the 'murderer' knows from the start who they are.  At other times no one knows until the reveal.

In this case, because Star Trek is a 'real' programme that is well known by a lot of people, some of the characters mentioned but not playing a part, are proper characters but in this MM they are bit part so mentioned but not involved in the MM as such

Hiya - I'll try to answer this one by one:

"I assume that each of the players has a script/brief that they're disclosing facts from?" Yes every player has a background, and on a daily basis are supplied with information that they must reveal in that Round .... as well as that, they have additional information about themselves that they'd rather keep to themselves

"Does the 'thief' have to be one of the 8 characters or could it be someone else on board?" Yes the thief is one of the main characters

If the thief is one of the characters, do they, themselves, know that they the thief at this stage and are concealing it or do they not find out until the end themselves?  The Thief doesn't know that they are the culprit yet If so are they allowed to lie? No one is allowed to lie ...but they can obfuscate (see Character Rules below)  Do the others have to tell the truth? They must answer the question asked - vague questions will get vague answers

Starfleet Admiral hoochie

I should add that the players are going on the scenario and info they have been supplied with - they have to be very creative  and use their imaginations to play this game as a forum isn't the intended platform for playing it.

There will be stuff that they haven't been told - so just don't know .....never usually holds them back though!

Thanks Hoochie....in which case, I may have been on the wrong track with my main suspect  Unless one of your answers was deliberately evasive/ambiguous

It's possible I may make an appearance
