Yep, done that too she seemed surprised the first time I did it, but then wagged her tail loads and jumped around I've been playing tunnel canes through my crossed legs this morning, trying to embrace the breed in her the little rat keeps trying to dig the carpet, I snap her out of it and distract her with a toy she can chew straight away. It's constant though, you can't take ya eyes off her!

Ditty, I'm hoping that I can influence the use of a collar & lead

Summer.x I started training Eddie on the collar and lead when he was 9/10 weeks old. I bought a very soft collar and lead, and put it on him in the house.He hated it. Then I took him outside and he was dragging his backside on the ground. Then I thought I would try rolling his favourite ball in front of him. He instantly forgot about his collar and lead and chased his ball  with me dragging behind him. I did this as often as I could, and last week when we took him caravaning I thought I would train him properly on the lead. He took to it like a duck to water as he was already used to having it on. He was just out of his quarantine when we took him in to York last week where it was very crowded, and also we had to keep him on the lead at all times on our caravan site. In public we use a harness, but, I wanted to get him used to the collar for when we visit the vets etc.  Our vet said you can't start them too young with the collar and lead training.

Hi Sezit thank you, I think I'll get straight on it then, perhaps if I put the collar on her and then distract her with a toy..

the other advantage we have with the harness is that I have a large karabina clip clipped onto the seat belt in the car...   I clip it onto the loop on his harness when he is in the car...  so he is all safe & sound when travelling with me.   (so much less hassle than having a special car harness that you have to get them in & out of just in the car... we tried that it didn't work)
