Did anyone watch this on ITV last night at 10pm?
It was catching up with a family that was first shown in 2001, they lived on poverty stricken housing estate in Birmingham
They was living in a house that was covered in mould and were then given a 5 bedroomed house, most of the girls have now grown up and are doing well for themselves, the mum is still unemployed and has 2 girls still living at home and she still lives in the 5 bedroomed house, she was on and off medication for depression and it shown her and her daughter going shopping at christmas, she said she couldn't afford presents but bought nicer food and drink, she came home with plenty of booze
She then had a letter saying her benefits had been stopped because if she was ill then she hadn't been looking for work, she went off to the doctors and got a sick note to show that she had been to ill to look for work and her benefits got reinstated, yet she wasn't to ill to go shopping for booze and have a party
I've been on a course to get some better qualifications to improve my chances getting a better job and they stopped my benefits till they could find off the college if i had been or not even though it was me that applied for the course, not them sending me, it really annoys me when you try and better your life and get punished for it when others are clearly not doing anything to look for work
