Well that's just it; I got so hung up because it didn't, couldn't, wouldn't do the job despite all the promo bumf. After killing 2 (and thinking it was my fault) and getting so irate with the 3rd, I tried out a Henry and it was really good but then someone recommended a Vorwerk.

I went for the Vorwerk because I prefer an upright (you can have a lean on it during fag breaks)

I guess I'll look into them a bit more when the need arises or when I have more money, but at the minute a new vacuum is way down on my list of priorities

I'm going to try that, Cinds.

Have recommended it to DiL, too.

Couldnt agree with you more about Dysons. One of the most stupid things Ive ever done was to pay ÂĢ200 for a Dyson to save 10p a litre on petrol a few years ago.....since then Ive lugged the heavy thing around, spending hours unclogging it ,putting up with crap suction etc until last week when I dropped it down the stairs and its irretrievably broken.

I went on tesco rewards and discovered Id got a few quid in unclaimed rewards and ordered the cheapest little tesco bagless cyclone which is fab, light portable great suction....and I only paid ÂĢ20 for it
