Rings a bell too that series.

Class painting Scotty
I know nothing whatsoever about art but I did study a little bit of pre raphealite as part of a Humanities degree - I love this one. Don't know why - I just do.
I think we must have both done the same course Soozy I love the Pre-Raphelites......so much symbolism hidden in the paintings........ I liked the Awakening.....and I could look at Work (the painting) for hours
Thanks velvet.
There`s a larger version with beautiful shadows on the wall behind her but it`s too big to fit on here.

That's really nice Scotty - a bit Stephen Conroy-ish
Thanks velvet.

Hi Scotty
Thanks Slinki. Yes, I can see what you mean.

Absolutely love this style. Talented godchild, Scotty!
At the risk of being thought a total plum I shall now declare my liking for the Jack Vettriano style. I believe that it's not the thing to admit to in some circles but hey, I ain't in a circle.
Imperfect Holding, Temptress, His Favourite Girl and other paintings with a similar kind of theme are right up my street.
I like a bit of Ernst
Scotty - your sons girlfriend reminds me of Koo Stark.
Baz I love The Awakening too - think our degree course may have been similar.
I really like the picture of your sons girlfriend scotty. There looks like there is real weight on her hand, like shes pushing herself up, thats really cool. I cant help but focus on her boobs though its like her boobs are the focus and it sort of blurs into soft focus away from them.
Just looking at this one again.. I want a Tunnock's caramel wafer now!

You're right Gyps! *averts her eyes*

You can have the teacakes, I'll have the caramel wafers
Scotty - that is a lovely picture - very talented - reminds me a bit of Vettriano's style.
Cos, I'll sit in the 'frowned on' corner with you - I love Jack Vettriano's stuff too, especially the darker ones like you, I'm not quite so keen on his newer beach/trains stuff, was a wee it disappointed in his latest exhibition. One of my very favourites is the self portrait, Black Friday - just something about it - I can never explain why I like things (and before you wonder.. no.. he's not so fascinating in the flesh..)
I also had a quick browse through the Lesley Banks site - loved a lot of them too.
don't you just love the internet? I'd never heard of her before this thread.
