if you are only slightly over? the weight allowed is 15kg but i'm on 15.1 will they charge for this?

Depends which airline I would imagine. The likes of Ryanair, Easyjet etc will charge you extra for sneezing ...

No we are up to the limit on that as well 
theres hardly anything in the case but we still can't get it down to 15kg 
i think it's the sun creams and mosquito sparys that is weighing it down, it's giving me a headache

agreed - depends on the airline - I was charged a lot on Finnair for going over only slightly
Whether or not you get charged depends so much on the airline and the mood of the person who checks you in. I got round the extra weight when we came home last year by wearing cargo trousers and carrying a big jacket and stuffing the pockets with things like my camera, purse, jewellery, books etc. I also tied my jumper round my waist. In the end I managed to reduce the weight of my case by about 3kg.
Nice one Growly ... must admit I'm looking for a top with LARGE pockets so that I can stuff a couple of books in them, for my hols this year

The thing I've noticed Aimee is that they tend to wait until you are on your way home to do any charging, because they know you're less likely to leave things behind.

my fingers are itching to send him a message but i think i will regret it later, daughter just said this is why i don't speak to him anymore, i find it so sad that he can't even say goodbye to his only daughter, his choice i guess
