Anyone on here make their own wine/beer/lager/poteen etc; 
I used to make my own beer back in the 80's and am thinking on doing so again. I made Rhubarb wine from scratch and beer from a tin from the local home brew shop. 
With prices going up, looks like i am going to have to dust off the old barrels/bottles etc;

Never made any home brew, although when we were in Italy every man and his wife made Limoncello. The staff at the villa where we last stayed had a HUGE stash of the stuff on the go (fair do's, the villa was in the middle of a big lemon grove), and it was fab. We were supplied with unlimited amounts for the duration.
Sitting on the deck overlooking the sea watching the sun go down with a large glass is the way forward, imo 
Best holiday I ever had
Come to the conclusion it just isn't worth it.

The cost keeps going up and that depresses me. 
A good beer or wine at a fraction of the cost will make the interest rates of the banks seem a good alternative.

But I'd need pucker Italian lemons for that; the ones here are useless.

Never tried to make anything of the sort but my Mums uncle makes Potcheen and the stuff is like rocket fuel. One glass and you're drunk! It's disgusting too....not sure why anyone drinks it!

Yes we just started... the first batch is a woodford's wherry and its a mighty fine brew too... next one is a stronger woodford's to be done, then we are going to try wine..
Just awaiting bottles to arrive so we can start the next one.

Is that a Sherry you are brewing me dear? I remember my dad doing wine and lager in the late 70's early 80's. It was absolutely rank.
