Baz Ch4 was different there were different forums within the forum..there was only the sit as far as I can remember in the BB forum..I think we/Darnellians  were the only appreciation thread that stayed after BB was finished    lots of the regulars went to the different forums within CH4 forum when BB was on and came back when it was finished ..it always felt  quiet when BB finished because we had a lot of outsiders/FMS who also joined in when BB was on ..amonst them a lot of trolls admittedly, it could put people off if they dont belong to an appreciation thread, some threads  can be on the front page for days at a time ..it is very quiet most of the time on here, it does not affect myself as I have always posted in the Darnie thread and dont come on here as regularly as I used to,but I think it is fair to say it does feel like one big sit

Hi Marg I understand what you are saying , but we only have 3 Appreciation threads even now And most of the people who post in those also post all over the forum anyway, which effectively plays a part in keeping things ticking over : laugh: Plus there are still other areas such as the Lounge and the Games forum ( which a few of us still visit) along with other sites within sites . I really do think that it has more to do with people having other places to meet up , rather than any particular type of thread . People have simply found other ways and places to keep in touch and have discussions that seem to suit them better, and that is essentially why they leave . And there are only so many of us to go around

I did forget  actually there were a few appreciation threads  but most of them did  not bother posting in them when BB was finished on CH4 forum,I am sure the Darnellians at that time were the only appreciaton thread that carried on even when we moved here..that is what I meant ..now we have more threads other than the appreciation threads that that stay on the front page soaps cdwm etc not really explaining myself very well, but if you dont go into these threads there is not really a lot of other threads to post in ..and on that note my son has just come in

I try to avoid 'aggravation' wherever possible, although I don't mind a good old debate/discussion at times!....Seems to me that this forum has become what it is because it's fairly small and those who have chosen to stick around largely get along/agree to disagree and are respectful re differences of opinion rather than after a barney?....Maybe that's the precise reason that certain folk stay here and others have left? I've read loads of times that the likes of DS for example, with it's constant arguments are actively avoided like the plague by some, whilst others come on here and go on other forums....and get their aggro fix elsewhere!

I don't post in any 'sits', but do enjoy chatting in the 'live' threads about certain TV programmes. Everyone will post where they want/how they want and with whom they want and it seems to me that the forum has become as it has because that's how the majority want it to be?

Marge Guess that's down to how many folk want to start a new thread/discussion? I know some fms don't really have the confidence to do that and there are those who would just rather say a few words about a topic in a 'live' thread rather than start a 'big' discussion about it
