Cassie's mum is campaining for a change in the law which will allow specially trained police officers to temporarily suspend someone's licence for 72 hours while the DVLA judges the case. This is because her daughter was killed by an oap who driving his car when he was unable to read a number plate from 20m (following another accident) police asked him to surrender his licence but he refused and the matter was referred to the DVLA, unfortunately he killed Cassie before the matter was resolved.

This is on BBC Breakfast now...

I remember the accident involving Cassie...    it happened in the town I live.     The driver mounted the pavement & ploughed into her... pinning her against a shop wall & killing her.

A few days prior to this he was caught on CCTV "undertaking" a parked car, by mounting the pavement & driving on the pavement (narrowly missing 2 pedestrians) before going back onto the road again.

Total & utter bas***d as far as I am concerned...

I rarely sign petitions...   but I did this one..       I would urge others to do it too
