German woman (Kate Winslet) who can't read, probably mid 30's ish, shagging a 15yr old lad in exchange for him reading to her.

If this was the other way round and it was a mid 30's year old bloke having his wicked way with a 15yr old girl, I'm sure it would be banned.

For legal reasons, the intimate scenes between Peter Kross and Kate Winslet were not filmed until he was 18. Also, although not mentioned in the film, the book says that the Kate Winslet character thought the boy was 17.
