girl 'raped on live television'

Shocked viewers watched how contestant Daniel Echaniz, 31, allegedly forced himself on student Monique Amin.

And cops confirmed today that they are investigating the alleged attack and carried out a search of the studios in Rio de Janeiro.

The rape allegedly happened in the early hours of Sunday after Monique, 23, passed out after a booze-fuelled party.

Cameras caught Echaniz getting into her bed before appearing to have sex with her under the duvet.

Monique appeared to be unconcious at the time. She was asked about the incident in the diary room the next day, and appeared to know little of what happened.

Big Brother is one of Brazil's most watched programmes, with an average of eight million viewers.

He's been questioned by the police and threw off the show... apparently she was out for the count, but she's stayed on the show

I was going to make a joke until I read the story.  How awful, sad thing is 'some' men think that it's OK to have sex with a woman when she is drunk like that.  Some will argue that a woman shouldn't get so drunk that it can happen to her. But wouldn't it be nicer if 'some' men just didn't think it was there right to have sex with someone.

Notice I put 'some' men, because I know a lot of men wouldn't.

So: the producers watched this happen, but did nothing till the next morning; they only removed Echaniz after being told to by the police; the police only got involved because of a video posted online by a viewer, and the producers' only proactive action so far has been to try to get said video taken off YouTube on grounds of copyright...

I hope they get charged as accessories. Seriously.
And the next time someone involved in BB-UK complains about fans being too quick to call Ofcom as an argument against the return of LF, I want them to be publicly reminded of this story. Seriously
