I've only heard of jam roly poly, not ham roly poly.
My friend was telling me last week that she had made a tapas dish with hers ... chopped it up with onion and garlic, made a thick white sauce, mixed it all up, formed it into balls, covered it with parmesan and breadcrumbs and deep-fried it.
I didn't fancy it much!!
My mum loves a bacon pudding ..............it's not something that really appeals to me TBH but
I was trying to embed a video but - it wasn't having it.
This one looks good though.

I can remember having it when I was younger, and I think I enjoyed it..........the only other thing I can think of to use it up is a carbonara and I make that all the time.

My mum used to make a coddle(sp) with left over gammon/bacon sausages, potatoes, carrots, onions pearl barley in like a broth soup. I used to love the sausages in it cos they were cooked in it so were lovely and soft.... Thats the second time i've found myself missing my moms cooking tonight...

Awwwww, I think that's why I am going to try and make a steamed pudding....(My mum used to make a great steamed date pudding in a cloth, we all loved it to come home to) .sometimes the old ones are the best
Oooooooh Eileen, I am now in the Steam or Oven? debate again.....
Nothing finer than a bacon and onion STEAMED suet pud.
Put the herbs in the suet rather than the meat 'n onion mix though
Slap it between 2 slices of bread.
That's the height of my creativity
You could make a quiche, Syd. I made my first one a couple of weeks ago, its dead easy I'm totally rubbish at cooking too. I was moaning that the cheese grater was crap... before I realised I had it turned the wrong way round
Just put roly Poly pudding in steamer for 3 hours, will check after that and maybe glaze with egg and bake til golden if it looks insipid....
Absolutely delicious..............will make it again definitely...........
