Oh come all ye faithful, because I do the meanest descant

I remember a school Christmas concert when my daughter and her best friend were at the front of the stage singing, and the friend's mum and I were in the front row of the audience. The mum and I looked at each other during this carol, smiled and burst into the descant. The horrified look on the two girls faces was priceless

I love the Christmas morning verse of it ... Ye Lord we great thee

O Come All Ye Faithful because this is the carol my sis and me sang every Boxing Day morning, snuggled up in bed with my Grandma whilst Grandad was making fried banana sarnies and a big pot of tea! The singing was as loud and tuneless as possible and the neighbours often joined in cos they could hear us!! This was always my fave bit of Christmas and I carried it on right up until her last christmas when I was 19 (my sis stopped a few years earlier)....I'm so glad I did. Every time I hear this carol I think of her...sometimes I cry and sometimes I laugh....every time, I miss her.

Oh Mrs B Reading your memories really touched me. Made me smile and well up at the same time.

Ooooh squiggle, my fav is O Come All Ye Faithful too.  Plus I also love to hear the kids singing Away in a Manger.  Although in Newcastle it is sang Away in a Main-JAH!
