Just watching this on ITV, about the Benn vs McClellan fight. It was a great fight marred by tragedy and neither man was the same afterwards!

I'm watching it too, Kimota. I was there that night.
I find it sad that boys found their way off the "Streets" into the world of boxing......I have always hated boxing....
I'm sort of watching too. It's quite harrowing. His 'coach' looks raving mental. His sister seems lovely. So sad for both of them.
Cos... what's the professional opinion?
Stan Johnson is no more a qualified trainer than I'm Angelina Jolie
All I'll say is.......if the boot was on the other foot there's people who wouldn't be quite so concerned as they are now.
I always wonder what would have happened if the fight was stopped in the first. I feel that McClellan was an accident waiting to happen. I noticed him blinking even in some of the training footage. He probably would have suffered similar injuries in another fight if he had won. Nigel Benn on the other hand would probably have had a longer career (he was never the same after this) and would have won another version of the title.
Tonight's programme was very moving. Apparently there is an extended 90 minute version that will be on later this month!

You have to question anyone who gets rid of Manny Steward; moreso when they don't replace him with someone of the same calibre. I mean, have you seen who he's been involved with over the years. He's no Stan Johnson, that's for sure.
Money being made by men knocking brain cells out of each other..
Although Benn was a great ring warrior, I find it hard to believe him when he said he hadn't taken steriods prior to this fight.
You only have to look at the two dubious characters escorting him into the ring to find it hard to believe.
