eeeeh... it's not nice out there... home safe though, managed to stay pretty much on my side of the road too.... . can't hear the wind right now - got a couple of burly carpet cleaners doing their thang on my floor coverings so I'm being deafened by them atm.
hope everyone and their property is ok
it's heading east still kaffy, take good care! x
I'm going nowhere now until the morning, slinks... you at home? That photo's amazing - but scary.
Yep, I'm at home, camping out in the back room, cause the front windows are rattling so hard ! Had to lock the storm door, the two doors blew open earlier . Bit spooked
Stay cosy and stay here for company. I wish these bloomin' carpet cleaners would finish and be gone... I'm freezing my ass off in the kitchen keeping out the way.
They're probably taking their time deliberately, hoping things'll die down a bit before they have to go out into it.
The BBC website says that the Met Office said winds at Cairngorm Summit had reached up to 165mph (264km/h).
The UK record is 173 mph at the same place on 20 March 1986.
Some 30,000 people are without power.
Thousands of people in Argyll and the Western Isles have been left without electricity, Scottish Hydro said.
The company has 500 staff working to restore supplies.
Scottish Power said Dumfries, central Scotland and the Clyde coast had also been hit with power cuts, after trees and other debris blew onto and, in some cases, brought down overhead power lines.
The company said it had more than 600 engineers battling to restore power, with extra workers being drafted in from Merseyside and Wales.
But it warned fallen trees were blocking access, and high wind speeds prevented engineers from climbing poles.
Localised faults have also been reported in Sanquhar, Dumfries, Dollar, Falkirk, Helensburgh and Stranraer.

Windy here too (South East England).
However, I will be in the pub in an hour, enjoying a three course Christmas dinner with copious wine, not letting it spoil my evening
