Same when I was a kid..  only it was ALWAYS a selection box.

I have let my kids open one pressie early..   but there is usually a v good reason for it.

2 years ago they were doing my head in & I had loads of wrapping still to do..    I gave them both a pressie each..   DVD Box sets of Family Guy ..   kept them out of my way for the hours & hours it did

THIS YEAR EVERYONE WAITS!

Well, I'd say they'd embellished it - a bit

But you, of course, can carry it off with aplomb   We need to get you a nice gold director's chair and matching megaphone.  Obviously you mustn't unwrap them until Crimbo Day though.

I've done the christmas eve opening and the christmas day afternoon opening when I was single and was out partying till god knows what hours and sleeping half of christmas day  but

it has to be Christmas Morning .......  my lad is now 21 but he still insists on being santa and collects from the tree and gives to everyone .....  normally late morning now though with one eye on the kitchen and the other on what ever I have in the glass in my hand as OH plays santa to the childrens ward first thing in the morning

I do miss the excitement of having little ones around christmas morning though

Just one of the wonders of grand children.

I use to open them on Christmas Eve because I was dating an Austrian and they open their on that day during Heilige Abend and I carried on the tradition for a bit

Now I tend to open them at 12.01am precisely  cos I can never wait till the morning.  I think it goes back to my childhood because my sister was a sod and would open us kids pressies and eat all our chocolate before we got up    not that I get many presents these days - the dog gets more than I do
