A few years ago I came across this on an mp3. It appears to be Tom Baker in a recording studio about to perform the voiceover for an advert.
He is talking to the engineer in the recording booth. There is swearing, so if you are easily offended skip this thread.

Glad you both liked it. It made me laugh quite a bit when I first heard it.
I do think he has a fantastic voice.

but Tom Baker ...........patronising old git. Bet he's a joy to work with.
Sorry but if I'd hired him for the well paid voice over I'd tell him to pee off .....................he only had to go in and say his lines - he's simply an ex Dr Who - and not a good one at that!

I think what you heard was a snapshot of a piece of work TB was working on. I'm sure if you were a fly on the wall of any of the hundreds of voiceover sessions done each year you may hear similar types of comments by other V.O artists. Still, glad you found it amusing, that's what I was aiming for.
But, and this is a big but. Tom Baker is one of THE best Dr. Who's of all time (and regularly comes high in polls of favourite Doctors). Along with John Pertwee he is right up there. IMO he pees all over the current Doctor (who amongst my Dr. Who friends is not that popular). Since they rebooted Dr Who, Ecclestone is my fave.

tom baker was THE best doc of all time, very very closely followed by chris eccleston
I loved Dr Who as a child .............I love it even more watching with my grand sons .................David Tenant was theeeeee dR wHO imo - i LOVED HIM. I'm loving Matt smith too.
