Oooo! I remember now that you were thinking about doing that, but didn't realize you'd actually pulled the trigger.

Cinds: Did you read the part about how I can't get them here?? Beggars can't be choosers, and I'm looking forward to getting some, even if it means Soozy gets sent to the tower.

I did, and I get that you might not be able to get tinned mushy peas, but surely you can buy dried peas and bicarbonate of soda?

Yes they are, I just googled

http://www.englishteastore.com/mushy-peas.html

And if you can't find them, contact the government.  I did laugh at the dry pea & lentil council, I'm sure we have the equivalent.

It may not be worth a lot of money but it is priceless when it comes to comedy value

I like a good laugh.

Yogi, I laugh every time I see the thing.  Well it's either laugh or cry

Do you have any personal experience with any of the brands on that page?

Soozy, it's Mr Cinds birthday tomorrow, so this week is 'what ever he wants week'.

If I don't appear for a week, it means he really got what he wanted for his birthday

Keep a shovel and a fully charged mobile with you at all times Cinds!
