A heads up for everyone. I got this in a mail and was wondering how many others knew about it
An Email From:
LiveCloud
sprout,
You’re getting this email because you have created a LiveCloud account (thank you!). We wanted to let you know that we’re making some important changes:
- As of (date), LiveCloud will be renamed Hoo.do.
- We are dropping the “.user” portion of the site URL.
How will this affect you?
Anywhere you have referenced your current LiveCloud site as “http://yourname.hoo.do” should be changed to “http://yourname.hoo.do”.
Note that friends who have subscribed to notifications of your posts will continue to receive them as usual without taking any action, but they will be coming from the Hoo.do domain.
We will be auto-redirecting the URLs for at least one week and potentially up to three months, but it’s a good idea to let your friends know that your site URL has changed so they can re-bookmark the new URL.
If you had a legacy group site with a name like “http://yourname.hoop.la” the existing redirect will no longer work. You should notify your group members to update the site name to “http://yourname.hoop.la”.
Also note that your personal mobile posting email address will not be changing.
Why is this happening?
We originally came up with the name LiveCloud before the entire world started talking about putting things “in the cloud” and, with the shift in perception, we don’t want to be known as a storage space. Hoo.do is a fun way to refer to “who’s doing” what, since the site is all about sharing what you’re up to, on your own terms.
What isn’t changing is that Hoo.do continues to offer simple privacy controls, and we are not selling or sharing your data. At all. Ever.
Where can I go to ask questions?
You can find our helpful staff at http://help.socialstrata.com if you ever have questions or suggestions. We’d love to hear from you!
