Its just one of those things that doesn't need saying..

What it boils down to is very simply - we all have different opinions.

In real life we don't all have the same friends (otherwise they'd be some people with no friends) - it would be ridiculous if we all liked exactly the same things in people.

Oddly enough this year a vast majority have supported Aaron (unusual to have such a large consensus) - I think it's probably because they're quite and unremarkable and generally unlikeable bunch of people. I haven't warmed to any of them TBH (maybe lack of LF has something to do with it.

I couldn't really give a stuff who wins.

have you finished watching it?

Yup  .. it ended last week..

I agree with the abusive hubby comments being out of order btw.. I do think some guys go for the wrong type of girl tho and in doing that they can appear to dominate or be playing mind games with them.. until they meet one that won't take their particular shit off them it will always appear as if they are mentally messing with the women they chose.. I also think the same applies for women too,,,

I agree with you re not being able to tell a wife beater from the outside too Ditty. .tho mind game abusers are a bit more easier to spot cos they do it to partners in public as well cos it's about mental control of someone at all times. .Aaron and Faye seem to have a needy,  bicker, fight  then make up type relationship. .to me if that goes too far it can be deemed abuse of the mental kind where they are always playing the victim to each other to get attention and hurting each other in the process.. even if they don't realise they are doing it to each other. .it doesn't bode well for a healthy relationship... if that makes sense, ... I know what I mean in my head I just can;t verbalise it properly.. .

Yup. Was really getting in to it. She'd just taken her dogs to a pet spa and Prince was having a blueberry facial scrub. It was at that point my husband's tolerance level over my tv viewing reach it's zenith.

I've got an empty nest today (all my kids have gone to their Nana's). I'll watch it online later after I've caught up with Made in Chelsea.

The Olly Detox Regime!

Step1. Check TV scedule and make sure you have something enjoyable planned for when the WORST of the dross is on.

Step 2. etc.

It's quite fortunate that I don't live alone otherwise I'd end up glued to all kinds of rubbish (I am anyway but there is a limit to what the old man will stand)  He does work long hours but this busted ankle has kept him home for THREE WEEKS  - Our 36 year marriage has never been under so much pressure

I would not watch The Bachelor because I can't stand the guy in it, besides, he's so high profile why does he need a programme to get a woman! Having said that, he is as dull as dishwater.

Suzy, your husband had the right idea. I thought the programme did Tamara no favours what so ever. Too much money, too much time. Fantastic advert for all those people who are struggling to heat their homes or put food on the table.

What incensed me was having the stupid dog's nails painted. What a complete and utter waste of money. Now if she was being a secret millionaire I would have been more impressed. Sadly the level of TV we seem to get fed these days.

I'm not sure it wasn't WORSE tham watching Gavin. Well, I say watching, but I was listening mostly as my back is to the TV while I'm typing.

Oh I so agree.

It makes me laugh cos I have friends who really do take the mickey of me and my reality TV love  BUT they are quite happy to watch soap operas which I detest. However I don't comment on them watching soaps or tell them to get a life

We all have our ways of relaxing - for me, it is crap reality TV and I am not going to stop now.

I don't know if it was better or worse as I didn't watch the other one. But like I said, I'm not ashamed about a little televisual chewing gum.

I don't ever get to the level of analysing this kind of fluff in a socio-political context, but I understand what you are saying EC

It's not a matter of "not getting him" Squiggle - yes he does say some funny things. But that does not really explain his sulks and his strops.

Its his whole persona I like Eileen.  TBH if I was stuck in there I would probably throw as many strops and sulks.  Without Mark and Harry to talk to I think he has been going slightly potty.  To have put up with the treatment meted out to him by Faye and Jem I think he has been remarkably restrained, and I suspect it has been heavily edited to show him at his worst.

I had not intended to watch it, but it was one eviction night I just left it running on C5 to get the interview. It was so awful I just HAD to watch the rest and find out how it all panned out.

IMO he threw away the best one a few weeks back and even at the end, when there were only 2 left, he chose the wrong one.

Exactly and Jay`s sulks, strops and aggressive behaviour have been mainly edited out.

This is according to some ex housemates who have since said they were actually frightened of him.

In fact, if you read Dead Famous by Ben Elton you will see that so called "Live Feed" is generally at least 15 mins behind so editing can still happen.

She has been accused of some terrible things by Aaron fans - including being paid by BB to say this stuff and wanting him out because of Faye then having a better chance of winning. Dreadful things and dreadful name calling as well.  She may well be wrong for saying what she did, but she does not deserve the abuse that has been thrown by people.

I

Actually, that bit's true - she said so herself on BotS. She claimed that Faye would have won the show if it hadn't been for Aaron. I can't believe she's been paid anything other than standard appearance fees though.

I totally agree with you that the attacks on Faye's mum have been way out of order, but it was obvious that would happen: I actually predicted it after the "Friends and Family" nominations, and said here that I really hoped she wasn't on Twitter because she'd get flamed.

IMO, she's been badly advised and manipulated by BB. Alex's mum is on TiBB. and she posted there that the F&F were only told about the noms twist that day, and only given a few hours to prepare. Personally, I think Faye's mum should have refused to take part, but I fully understand why she went on. She believed she was standing up for her daughter, but she forgot (or perhaps didn't realize) that she was only seeing her on heavilly-edited snippets.

What we've seen is Faye come out the strong, independent young woman that she went in as, and she's adamant that she wasn't manipulated by Aaron (who she describes as a "Funny little weirdo geek"   ). Hopefully, she'll be able to sit down with her mum over the next few days and explain to her what's really been going on in there...

Eugene's Lair

Thats a great post EL - thank you and it explains a lot.

I think this years BB has been a total washout in many ways - many of you are saying that it is hugely scripted and manipulated and you are probably all right..

Interesting that Faye's Mum thinks that she would have had a better chance of winning without Aaron.. I don't think so somehow.

I do not like him at all.

No, I don't either, and I suspect someone had a word with her after she made that comment and explained that Faye's continued presence in the house actually depended to a large extent on the support of Aaron fans (who were vocally withdrawing that support in numbers all week).

It would certainly explain her more conciliatory tone on Friday night...
