Anyone watching it? They have mega talent on that show! It really REALLY puts the UK version to shame. No wonder Simon jumped ship when you compare how bad the UK version is at present and what the US holds in terms of talented singers.

Yeah - watched the judges houses Ells
Some talent right enuff
Ours is an utter disgrace.
I'm just on the second ep of judges houses now Velvet.....I'm gobsmacked at some of the talent there that won't even go through to the live shows and know they'd win our version hands down.
Love Stacey and Josh in the over 30s so far, hope they do well.
Yes...I love it Ells.
Ours is like being at Butlins.
I thought that 4Shore should have gone through. I was really disappointed.
So far, my favourite female singer is Melanie Amoro
Simon didn`t put Melanie through at the judges house but he had no intention of letting her go.
It was all part of the drama -visiting her house to give her another chance.

totally agree .... I've only seen snippets but that was enough for me to see that thier version is 10 times more talented than ours. I should have watched the US version
I hope they do not watch our X factor in the states.
One listen to Frankie and we would be a laughing stock
Actually I feel a bit sorry for Frankie. He looked like a rabbit in the headlights after he sang last night.

I thought I posted that in the XFactor thread up there ^^^. In fact, I shall go and do it now.
As you were

You`ve missed the auditions etc Angel but the show starts this week with the final 17.

Shame the car stopped though.
Oh I say - how horrid for a sunday morning.

"Butlins"
I couldn't believe it when 4Shore didn't go through, I thought they were cracking! The X-Factor USA are rejecting talent that, hands down, would win our version of the show. Scotty

I`m glad that made you laugh this Sunday morning Triggs.
I couldn`t believe 4Shore didn`t get through either - still don`t understand it.
Oh, without a doubt the US rejected talent would win our version although I doubt they would even considering entering our joke of a show. Their careers would be in tatters if they did.
Louis, for one, would have them performing at the opening of a new supermarket.

This is what makes it so much more interesting to watch than ours Scotty....... it's so much harder to predict who is going to put through!
My faves (at the mo) are Drew and Marcus.
OT....I can't believe Leroy is 60!

That looks like a Glasgow Celtic scarf you`re waving there Ducky.
I agree, the unpredictability makes it much more interesting to watch than ours. Who we put through is all about who they think is going to "entertain" the viewers on a Sat/Sunday night and not about discovering a talent that they want to give a successful career to. USA have a small element of that - i.e. Dexter Haygood (the homeless guy..although I do feel sorry for him ) got through over much more talented singers but the US show really does want to find a talent that they will promote to succeed. That`s what I love about it.
I like Drew, lovely tone and control and Marcus too..although I thought his live stage audition was better than his judge`s house performance... I`m glad he`s through.
I know, Leroy 60! he could pass for 40. He`s had a lot of experience.
Not seen you for a wee while Ducky.
The episodes from boot camp through to judges houses are still on ITV Player if anyone wants to catch up.
I didn't think Dexter deserved the live shows but I wouldn't have had the heart to give him a no either And as for Simon no way did Tia and Simone deserve to go through over Jazzlyn. Caitlin was boring but had an amazing voice and if it really is a talent show then she should have went through. The whole Melanie thing was a joke. I don't even think he did it for drama.....I think he just wanted Tia and Simone in the live shows that badly that he knew the only person the other judges and public would be happy for the rules to be bent for was Melanie.
InTensity weren't great either and shouldn't have got to the live shows ahead of 4shore. Apart from that I really liked the judges picks for live shows. I think LA Reid got his choices spot on.
Hi everyone and Hi Ells. I'm not being bigheaded, but I posted about this a MONTH ago... (I have posted a link to the thread I started at the bottom of this post.... ) I started watching American X factor from the start this year and highlighted how amazing the acts are some 4 weeks back. Our X Factor is shockingly bad... and the acts are dismal and rubbish. Someone pointed out on the 'demise of the x factor' thread that it's no different to usual, and that is the problem; it IS no different... the same shit, untalented acts who can't sing, the same bad guy/bad girl (Cher/Katie Waisell/Danyl/Mischa) and the judges trying to get attention for the show by being 'controversial,' and the same predictable shit coming out of the judges gobs! 'You owned the stage,' 'you made that song your own,' and the same silly arguments between them. This show is bloody AWFUL! The American one is 1000 times better!
And Tulisa is a SHIT judge: she is from a hideous chavvy band with grotty talentless numpties in, she is only 23, and knows FECK all about spotting talent, and her rants about how 'I came from Camden I did' like she said to that guy who slagged her off weeks ago. BIG FECKING DEAL, so WHAT?! Camden is only down the road from the pissing studios... And if anything, you had an ADVANTAGE being from London already....You think you're so amazing and special? YOU'RE NOT! She is a talentless nobody, and I have NO idea how or why she is a judge. And that attack in Mischa shows what an unprofessional little cretin she is. KELLY is a shit judge too who gets on my last bloody nerve, Gary Barlow may be fit and a decent songwriter, but I LOATHE him on X factor: he is rude and obnoxious, and is NOT Simon, even though he is trying to be His critisism isn't even constructive. And Louis is a prize wanker.
Here's my thread from a month ago... I am so pleased others are watching American X factor too...

I remember that thread Cupcake I hadn't formed an interest in it at that stage because of Cowell but an old boyfriend on facebook kept posting about all the great contestants at the start of auditions and then posted a video of Melanies audition and I got a little interested but kept missing the ITV2 shows because of BigBro and whatever else so only really got into it last weekend when I watched every episode from the boot camp up to judges houses. So far it's been great to watch and I can't wait to see the live shows because I don't think LA Reid is going to just roll over and play game with the producers (I'm hoping not anyway!). One thing I'm glad about is that there won't be any novelty acts (Jedward etc) as there is just way too much talent to even consider having a joke act among them.

I've been completely flat out at work....... but I can always make a little time to watch Cowell doing his stuff.

Are you still watching this Ells? Did you see it last night?
