After a rather hectic shift at work today, I came home rather pleased with myself, as I was on on cook all day, on my own....this means, I had to cook breakfast, and lunch, all by myself for EVERY single customer who came to the carvery today (up til 5 pm) anywayz.... I had so much good feed back from people...one of the comments was " omg these roast potatoes are amazing!"

I thought it was just family saying that about my spuds in a supportive kinda way, though I know they are tasty, I didnt think they were "the best roast potatoes ever had" at the pub I work in....needless to say, my head is massive!! the rest of my dinner was described as amazing and delicious...**head swells**

anyway.......how do you like your roast potatoes???

Personally, I like them crispy on the out side, and soft and fluffeh in teh middle....some people dont like them too crispy etc...

how do you eat yours?!

 WHY?.......

Because they taste revolting.  I HATE plain food, especially roast dinners, with a passion.  I eat turkey on Christmas Day, but not with roast potatoes, but never eat roast meals other than that.

my son can tell what sort of potatoes I've used...  I get a right bollocking if I haven't used King Edwards

I've recently been using Picasso - I don't know if they're a local variety (Mr woo buys from local farms for the shops) they are absolutely scrummy!

I can assure you that I haven't got to my age without having tried proper home cooked roast potatoes -  I;ve always been told that my roast potatoes are wonderful.   I've tried them cooked by many other people over the years, inlcuding potatoes cooked in goose fat, duck fat, seasoned etc.   and just the smell of them makes me heave.  As a child, I always swore that the day I left home I would never eat another roast dinner, and apart from turkey and one or two other times when I really couldn't avoid it, I never ever eat roast lunches, although I cook them for Mr G every week.

I wouldnt do that to him!  We always eat together - I just cook separate meals.  Mr G has always been quite a plain eater, and I've cooked separate meals several days a week for as long as I can remember. It's a bit easier now that Growly Jnr has gone off to university, because I often had to make three separate meals when she was still here
