you know who it is and youve already sent one havent you
I am absolutly shit at keeping secrets and would just HAVE to tell some people but after properly thinking about *if* I ever won big then I know I'd have to keep it quiet coz it causes more trouble than it's worth to broadcast it.
Sorry to disappoint darling. I'm fine and don't need anybodies money , but I remember the last time somebody went public, the family had to leave their home and change their lives completely. Why would anybody themselves through that.
first thing id do is buy a camper van-then sod off to a lakeside and think about how i would avoid my family-'cept my ma
then id drive the camper van to a beach, stay there
and avoid everyone except for greyhounds
then buy some land, fill it with greyhounds
and be happy
i happen to like greyhounds
theyre more friendly and loving than some people
and deserve my pretend fortune

I know I wouldn't.
I think, winning that much, your kids will be vulnerable to kidnap. Maybe they don't have any.

I think I'd let it be known that I'd had a 'modest' win ÂĢ200,000 or something so people wouldn't be suspicious when I started to have a bit of a spend. i'd never let on that I'd won millions! I wonder if they're put under pressure to reveal all?

A camper van? Why not a RV an really go on tour?

Soozy I wonder too whether they are put under pressure.
I know if I had won a massive jackpot, I would wait until another jackpot had been won between a few people and then say I had won some money.

did you watch that prog with caroline quinten, based on a true story, when they worked at the mint or summat and they were supposed to burn the money but nicked it?
they might now be wishing they hadnt gone public ..........

I think some go public because of greed, if you want to keep your anonimoty you lose 5% of your money, if you go public you get the lot....
I would hide out abroad until interest died down, if I won.

Five megapoond well spent IMO!
One things for sure, in the eyes of the press it is always the wrong sort of winner.
as wisbech isn't too far away from where i live - i did ask my s-i-l if they had any relatives there!
local to me as well - 3 miles away and my nearest Town
I dont know them either but was wondering if they needed to adopt any more friends or family

I reckon they must be, Camelot or whoever saying they'll look after and advise them if they go public.. especially considering the last couple kept quiet for a while then went public

Is that true??? Blimey....
Goog luck to them I say...thoughit makes me laugh when they say they are skint and 'can't afford anything' yet the fella owns around 60 Chelsea Shirts (I read this earlier) and he will have a full room in his new house dedicated to Chelsea....Chelsea Shirts, they don't come cheap do they!
I am not sure about what went on with this son, but you can almost always guarantee that half the time, when someone becomes rich, through lottery win or fame, that some parasite will come out and sell a story to the tabloid scum press ... they sell their souls for 500 quid! This happens with X factor people and all sorts...
I would NOT go public as I wouldnt want leeches scrounging off me; people coming out of the woodwork - old 'friends' I havent seen for 10 years, and acquaintances and ex collegues and extended family who haven't bothered with me for years begging for money. ... coz that's what would happen. Only my very close family members (not extended,) and my closest friends (of which there are 3) would get anything. I would not even tell them that I had won the 100 million though... I would say that I had won like 3 to 5 milion, and treat them over a few months... new house, new car, holidays, etc...
As for the rest of the 100 million; I would probably systematically give about 85 million of it away to various causes over about 5 years... animal charities, disabled charities, elderly persons' charities and environmental causes and to hospitals and to keep care homes and community centres open... A mulititude of things are much more deserving of the money than some money grabbing extended family members that haven't even sent a Christmas card for 15 years, or so called friends who only bother you when they think you have something they can get their mitts on... Like I said, out of all the people I have ever known, only my very close family (7 people) and my 3 close friends would get a penny. But plenty of deserving causes would benefit.
