It's a fair point, and one I agree with.
As someone who is involved with disabled people I'm well aware of euphemistic abuse, or maybe the politics of euphemisms.
Can be a minefield sometimes, this language thing. I've even been told off for using words to describe myself.
A minefield indeed! I can't keep up with fashion. One day a sign is regarded as offensive, the next day everyone's using it.

I know. And a lot of the meaning comes the tone in which things are said and the familiarity of the person saying it. I suppose if someone informs you that they are offended, then one just has to accept that they are offended.

9pm on sunders. Three progs all on the same time. Obviously we watch the superior Spooks live (BBC 1) then we wait for a night with no telly and watch Fry on language (BBC 2) and then the dreadful Downton (ITV)
