On a scale of one to ten ...................I'd say fifteen. They have no idea IMO!
I wouldnae touch a credit card.
This coming from a millionaire who had five holidays this year..... and he had to alter it the speech, because in the first draft he came across more out of touch than he did in the second draft
Exactly Sooz, I'd say to him stop screwing me on taxes and stuff and I probably would be able to pay it off
I wouldnae touch a credit card.
I haven't touched mine for a while

TBH Velvet - we have one but pay it off every month. I'm fairly certain that given the chance I could get carried away - my OH is of the mind - we only buy what we can afford. People assume because we have shops that we're loaded and probably look at us in amazement in that we don't do designer clothes and super duper holidays etc. The thing is (and I'm grateful for it) - we have no debt! My sister scares me - she has about ÂĢ30,000 in credit cards. That would scare the hell out of me TBH.
Peace of mind is preferable to luxuries. However I really and truly sympathise with people who have big debt especially in the current economic climate!

Exactly Dame. The man protests to know, but he has no real clue as to what it's like to live in the real world.

Me too. I have about ÂĢ700 and I'm worrying about that! And then there's my loan for the boiler and a new washer that was on it's last legs and then I thought....sod it! I might as well have a new telly too. that isn't finished untill next year. That's what's really crippling me. ÂĢ180 quid a month
I wouldnae touch a credit card.
I haven't touched mine for a while
Same here sprout....I'm busting a gut trying to pay mine off (my problem), I spent the money....if the Government would stop rinsing my pockets for every penny I have...then maybe I could....

Not touched mine for ages and have paid lots off, but really, how the hell do they expect people to live...they wouldn't know as they buy everything through their bloody expenses....they make me
Dame, I never realised there were 21 Millionaires in the cabinet until I listened to Richard Bacon this afternoon. It defies believe.

Me too. Do they not know I'm living on a month's wages at a time

Ye gods it's gone up used to be 17, it's disgusting isn't it and the poorest in society paying the most Col
They bandied about 9 until Nick Robinson piped up and said, actually it's 21. It does not fill me with confidence.

I was closer than Richard Bacon...I heard the nine remark and was like
As per usual.......bloody government fiddling the figures again
i think theres some poor people out there using there credit cards just to get by right now, with how tight things are im sure theres some people who have to turn to credit if theres something goes wrong in their home or with their car, things that people had a little put by for, that monies just not there now. its all a sad state of affairs. im lucky still living with mum as much as id like my own home and ive seen lots of little places id like i just int going to do it right now. i really dont think david or george have a clue about everyday life.
I wouldnae touch a credit card.
I have a credit card....and it's paid off every month. very rarely carry a balance from one month to the next.
Camoron is as clueless as he is arrogant and out of touch.
I find it breathtakingly arrogant and ignorant that the PM can include in his speech such trite advice. The man's a moron!
It beggars belief of the man's thinking processes that he actually thinks it's his place to pontificate from his ivory tower in such a patronising manner. What a prick he really is! As if the people of this country need to be lectured by a clueless prick like that on how to run their personal finances.

So do I, but on the odd occasions when the balance isn't paid off in full, it's because of certain reasons to do with my personal cash flow at the time. On those occasions, being an adult, I understand fully that it is costing me more than if I paid off the balance. However, that's the situation at the time, so that's the course of action I take.
Who the hell does Cameron think he is to presume to lecture adults on the basics of money management from his ivory tower?
How out of touch are most politicians
Completely and utterly....but, the days when they were or might have been are long, long gone. No chance of being in any position of political power these days unless you were born with a silver spoon and did PPE at Oxbridge
I think it takes some skill, to piss off the electorate and economists, at the same time!
I saw this sprout, about 6 hours ago on the news, but it's taken til now for me to stop laughing... David (call me Dave) Cameron AND Nick Judas Clegg are hilarious aren't they?! Lets just pull 5 grand out of mah back pocket to pay off mah credit card... LOLZ!!!
What makes me laugh is Cameron saying that the coilition is giving 2.5 billion to foreign aid, because 'he made a promise' to them.... what about the promise they made to us to abolish uni fees, ???? they didnt do that, they TRIPLED them! So it's not OK to break promises to foreign aid, but it's FINE to break promises to their OWN PEOPLE! Bastards!
Cameron is a prize cock. a snooty, public school educated WANKER who has not CLUE what life is like for normal working class and poor people. I could slap his fat turnip head with a wet kipper, til he passes out. Twat.
LOL Cupcake He's a prize one in't he?

Awww..... Shucks. He just really boils my piss, truly.

Cameron is a prize jerk. Wish we could vote him out nexy May, instead of having to wait another 3 years.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not sitting here all smug, At one point me and hubby had four cards between us and had an outstanding balance of over ÂĢ15,000 on one card alone!
With careful use of a few loans and judicious use of balance transfers, we eventually got it all paid off. Heavens only knows how much it cost us overall.

That's the trap.
