it wasn't my quill in the cap'n's log   I kept my own sort of log as I've already admitted to so I could tell Longshanks where the cap'n had been and was probably going - as I said, I wanted him out of the way to get my hands on the booty and Longshanks wanted his prized pirate head.  As for the captain's log - no not guilty

You!  I be wanting to speak to you.  Now Forcy this here knock out potion the captain wanted you to slip to Barnie - I have to hold my tricornered hat off to you for not going along with the plan cos it went against the hippopotamus oath

Now I don't know if Barnie heard the row that followed with ye and the Cap'n cos he was going to keel haul ye for insubordination - that row went on for hours and then the cap'n was dead - if that isn't a motive for ye to have killed him I don't know what is.  Well answer that if ye please   And is the only reason ye didn't go along with Inky's plan cos ye fear what Caul would do tae ye or cos you and Caul decided to reverse the victim and make it Inky?  Are ye in cahoots with Caul?

well I'm thinking it's that Yu Lie - I don't think she's as bad at speaking English as she makes out   I actually think she was born in Boreham Wood London not China and I reckon she went to Dame Ann Average Finishing School for Ladies and learnt how to compose a beautiful letter there

Yargggh! Yer make no sense, Piece.

If I be arguin' wid' t'Cap'n aboot how it be wrong to kill another wid' a potion, why would me then kill the Cap'n? The Hippopotamus Oath applies to man and beast, after all. Jes' cuz the Cap'n was a beast don't make it right to kill 'im!

Cap'n didn't want t' KILL Barnie, he wanted to maroon 'im on a deserted island (one without treasure, methinks. ) The potion was meant to knock 'im out enough to do the job.

I not be in cahoots with that mangy currrrr Caul. He be a power-hungry dog, that one.

Cahoots was never gonna end well if Caul be a partner.

It be that time again...the grog and me bed are a callin'. I be needin' ter think back and try ter figure this here murrrrrder out and identify the villainous villain what did it. As I be usin' the tried and tested method of pickin' a name from thin air and makin' an accusation fit and this only be a takin' a short while, I'll be a needin' someone ter keep me entertained.

C'mon Lancey boy, I be ready climb yer mast and set sail fer paradise on the Jolly Todger

ye see Forcy I don't believe that you believe in the hippopotamus oath   and I don't believe ye wanted to go to medical school.  I think it was all a ruse to get your grubby mitts on the captain's booty.  You're a greedy article who has used the medical school excuse once too often in my book

The night ye were rowing with the captain, is it because ye'd tried to dope old Barnie before and it failed so ye were too lilly livered to try it again and cited your blasted hippopotamus oath at Inky?

anyhoo ye scurvy dogs I'm away to my hammock to ponder all ye scurvy dogs have said but I'll be back

Did someone knock me out?? What day is it? Where am I?? Who am I??? Myy This ship need a good sprucing up.. Staggers on deck..

Ahh It's coming back to me now. I was kidnapped by Cap'n Black, The very Man I was after, So I joined his crew and kept as close to him as possible awaiting my chance to shop him to the Admiralty. Some how I had to finds a way to get a message off the ship so I kept at him to release some prisioners and slipped a not to one of them. But the note went missing.. My time was nearly up but by chance one of my notes had getting though and there was a ship tailing us. My chance to put my plan into action I thought and used the signal flags to let then know I was ready..

Well what happened next Eh? Cap'n ends up dead and we all end up suspects!!

Only one way to get out of this now.. Prove I am innocent of a murder..

James
