This week it was about parents over feeding their kids... Did you see the 21 year old mum of FOUR, who feeds fast food to her kids 2 or 3 times a DAY!  (Not tesco conevience meals, but actually stuff from the chippy, the chinese, mcdonalds etc etc...)

The little boy - about 20 months old, DEMANDS Mcdonalds constantly apparently.  The 4 kids (all 4 and under) sat there munching on burgers and fries and shakes and chips and kebabs...it was horrifying to watch.  I am not an 'always cook from scratch' person, but I do sometimes, and do have salads, baked spuds, fruit and some stuff fresh from scratch, in addition to the precooked/frozen stuff, but this woman was feeding her children utter utter shit!  And she thought it was fine.  'I see nowt wrong with what I am feeding my kids...'  Jeeeez!

Hi Skylark.

Thing is, this woman and her partner were on benefits, she was 21 and never worked, and her partner was unemployed, and yet they still manage to fork out at least twice a day for fast food meals for four kids and two adults.    Most people I know can barely afford to take the family out for a maccy d's or pizza or kebab etc more than a couple of times a month.  It does baffle me how 'some' people on benefits seem to do this, and smoke, and have expensive mobiles and pedigree dogs (pitbulls/rotties etc..)  Because again, most people I know cannot afford anything like this, and can just about pay their rent or mortgage and utility bills/energy bills and run their car.  I have never 'got' this.

Later on in the show, the young mum said that 'she' was brought up on fast food and by a mum on benefits, so it was like all she knew.  What a dreadful cycle...

She and the one child who was addicted to McDonalds went back to visit her home town and her partner (since split) tried and did cook meals from scratch which the three children enjoyed (he had worked in the catering industry) it was the mother who was just plain lazy, she fed the children McDonalds because it was easy. You only had to look at the state of the home to know that work of any kind was alien to her .

I agree Erin.    And that mum who said to her hubby 'if you want proper meals cooking for you and the kids, you get your chef's hat on then and do it yerself.'  Dear me.

I know that maybe it's what they know, and they don't know any better, but sometimes, these kind of bad family habits need breaking.
