QUESTION...    one that is causing much debate here...

the yellow & blue lines on the pitch..   ARE THEY ON THE PITCH?  or are they digital?   if its the latter... & some computer whizzery...  How the hell do they do that?

The blue line that indicates current line of scrimmage, and the yellow line that indicates distance needed for a new first down are both computer imagery. You see them on TV, but you do not see them live in the stadium as they don't really exist. How exactly they do it I don't know. We tend to take it for granted though, because they have been doing it for so long.

We have a bit of computerised diagrams here... when they are talking about (our) football (i.e.soccer)..  but it equates to a magna doodle type stylus drawing on the screen 

I didn't believe hubby when he said the lines weren't really on the pitch!   I have had to eat humble pie!

Patriots have really pissed up this time...

They have. Terribly self-destructive, and the Bills, who have been playing well, did exactly what they needed to do to win.  You cannot go undefeated every year. I mentioned this to a friend earlier today, the last time the Patriots lost to the Bills we went on to win the Superbowl.  I'm willing to take that trade-off again!

Seahawks won today, though.

Eh, I knew it was a trap game. The Bills have been playing great. They almost beat us last year, we've won 15 in a row and that kind of streak isn't going to last indefinitely, and our defense is terrible. Hopefully the coaching staff wakes up and makes some personnel changes - soon.

Things have been a bit hectic round here... haven't had the usual updates from the boy...   in fact, last update I had from him he told me we'd lost again.

We lost last week. Also one of our players had pictures taken with a XXX actress, and another was arrested for allegedly groping a girl at a Halloween party. Not a good week for the Patriots at all.

I neglected my duties yesterday and forgot to post - 

WE WON!   We are back into first place in the division, with a season sweep of the Jets, who are normally our closest rivals.

The Patriots are in the Superbowl AND they will be playing next season at Wembley Stadium, against the Rams, on Oct. 28. Now is the time to get on board!

Glad this thread has been bumped... the pro bowl was absolutely shocking last night. I'd be pissed off if I paid to be there, no effort at all. Even more ridiculous that some players are actually tweeting while the game is going

I didn't get to see it as I was otherwise occupied, but the reports that I have heard, all similar to yours, are absolutely shocking and quite vexing to me. The Pro Bowl was never a hotly contested affair, this is true, but the events of this past weekend seem to be a mockery of the game and the NFL. I cannot imagine the commissioner would permit this to happen again. I expect large changes to happen before next year's event.

I have a bet with Dave for the SuperBowl. $1 says the Giants will win.
