Watched it right from the first news break. Hubby always puts Sky News on the minute he gets up in the morning. He was at home and I can remember walking into the kitchen, making a cuppa and then sitting there for the rest of the day watching it all unfold.
It got worse as the day went on and I'll never forget how I felt. Terrible, terrible thing to have happened to so many decent people.
I was away with my family getting over a miscarriage...we were in the Lake District and had spent a lovely relaxing day with them, we got back to the cottage and I popped to the shop...MrB came running after me going 'Hurry up, something f***ing bad has happened'....I went into panic mode thinking something had happened to my eldest...got in and my initial relief at my child being ok soon turned to horror and sadness as we sat glued to the telly....it seemed so unreal, so far away...yet the more we watched, the closer it felt....such a tragic day, the memories have not really faded at all...neither has the feeling of helplessness as we watched people falling from the buildings or running from the huge dust cloud...or the brave firemen and police officers running towards the devestation....and watching the Towers fall was surreal and scary....
