The chart topping singer Adele has been continually cancelling gigs just lately - does anyone know why? She claims she has had cold after cold and so on, but some are wondering of it's something else (stress/depression etc...)

Adele is talented and successful, but I wonder if the strain of being massively successful has got to her? She is only a kid really... I remember Alanis Morrisette having a bit of a meltdown when she became HUGE back in the 1990s, after her Jagged Little Pill album..and she was about Adele's age. it is hard to handle that kind of scrutiny and stress at only 19-21 y..o

I wondered that too sparkles - I read somewhere once that she suffers from crippling stage fright and wondered if that had anything to do with it.

Saw her on Jonathan Ross, she has a cold, but she also said that she doesn't like big venues nor touring. She also sounded that she was still v hurt/bitter over a failed relationship

My son and his friends are friends of Adele, and hang out together sometimes. He has told me she is very shy, and she doesn't like doing big gigs. He has also said what a really nice person she is.
